AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

Strap in for a blast from the past!

Forty years ago, two lovebirds, Tim and Melinda O'Brien, tied the knot. After saying "I do," they celebrated with a mini-honeymoon at the charming Muehlebach Hotel in downtown Kansas City.

Little did they know a special surprise was waiting for them!

Now, 40 years later, they're dusting off their old wedding album, and what do they find? A gift certificate from the hotel for a free stay! It was like finding a golden ticket.

Would the hotel still let them use it after all this time? Guess what? They did! Even though their original room wasn't available, the superb hotel manager found them a cozy spot.

Now, they're all set to celebrate their 40th anniversary in style.

Plus, this time around, they're planning to add a little more jazz to their stay – literally! They'll be making some stops at downtown Jazz clubs, something they missed out on during their first stay.

So, here's to Tim and Melinda, about to rewind the clock and relive their honeymoon, all thanks to an old gift certificate.

This lovely tale shows it's always a good idea to hold on to those keepsakes. You never know when they'll come in handy!

Get ready for a splash of inspiration!

Meet Tyler Reed, a Florida swim instructor who has found a unique way to boost his little students' confidence—and it involves becoming a mermaid!

Okay, not really turning into one, but channeling the strength of one through a magical "mermaid mantra."

Here's the deal: the young swimmers repeat, "I'm big. I'm brave. I'm beautiful." Yes, you read that right. This mantra helps kids understand they are strong enough to conquer the water.

The internet loves it! A video of a tiny 2-year-old repeating this mantra post-swim lesson is making waves online with over 39 million views! Everyone's cheering for these brave little fish.

But Tyler's mission isn't about viral videos.

He's all about teaching water safety to kids at a young age. His goal? To show the world that even the tiniest tadpoles can learn to swim. So folks, remember to encourage your kiddos in their swimming journey because, like the little ones in Tyler's class, they're big, brave, and beautiful!

🧠 Wednesday Wisdom

Anxiety is excitement without breath.

Fritz Perls (paraphrased)

I heard this quote in an episode of my favorite Twitch channel, Critical Role, this past week. It struck me.

Anxiety is such a negative emotion. The same with fear (from the original quote). But this outlook spins that narrative on its head.

Excitement, a positive emotion, lives beside anxiety on a razor’s edge. The only difference is breath.

Oddly enough, hearing that quote made me appreciate my most anxious moments more because I can relate them to excitement.

That’s the power of framing.
